Classroom Guidelines

I would like to WELCOME you to the Career and Technical Education experience!  Our class goal is to have a safe, fun, hands-on learning environment for all.

  • CTE classes are more focused on careers and technical skills that students will need as they get older and start looking for jobs.
  • In person learning we would be completing hands-on projects and activities that introduce the skills and knowledge to students.
  • Throughout the semester there will be a mix of assignments and projects that students will need to complete.  Some projects will be completed at home and students will be asked to complete questions and other supporting documents for proof of completion.
  • We will use Google Classroom as our platform to give out information, answer questions and assign/submit assignments.  Please make sure that you are familiar with Google Classroom.

In Person Learning

The vast majority of work will be completed at school.  This is an Encore class!  There will be a very limited amount of homework for this class.  Any work that is late will result in a deduction of 10 points per day!

Computers are used often in this class.  All students must have the Davidson County Internet Use Policy Permission Form signed to use the computers in this classroom.  (Second semester students should already have this turned in.)

Our grading policy will consist of the following:

60% Major Works   40% Minor Works   = 100% Total Grade

Any assignment turned in with no name on it is considered incomplete, which will result in the student losing 10 points on the grade of that assignment.

Students with excused absences will have five days to complete and turn in all make-up work.  If the absence is unexcused (T.O.R., I.S.S., or O.S.S), the teacher has the discretion whether or not to let the student make up the work.

Extra CreditExtra credit will be offered to anyone that feels the need to raise their current grade average.  Extra credit is offered throughout the semester.

The Davidson County Grading Scale will be used to determine the final letter grade:

A = 90 – 100                                B = 80 – 89

C = 70 – 79                                  D = 60 – 69

E = 59 and below
